Online posts provide glimpse of Ottawa terror suspect

Misbahuddin Ahmed posted links to websites sympathetic to Islamist terrorists, but also talked about skating and the Montreal Canadiens.

Some insight into the past of at least one of the suspects arrested last week on terrorism charges can be found on the internet. A wealth of online writings by Misbahuddin Ahmed, a Pakistani-born 26-year-old X-ray technician implicated in a bomb plot by police, is detailed in the National Post today. Many of the posts Ahmed made to an online Muslim forum are about his daily life in Canada and none appear to explicitly advocate violence, but he did post links to Jihad Unspun, a now deactivated site sympathetic to terrorists. Ahmed and his co-accused are to appear in court today for a bail hearing.
