Organizers at Toronto International Film Festival are looking into reports of bedbugs at one of the festival’s main venues.
Long lines, overpriced popcorn, and tall people who always seem to sit directly in front of you: these are annoyances you can count on when you go to the movies, but patrons at the Toronto International Film Festival might have to add bedbugs to that list after festival co-director Cameron Bailey announced that he’s investigating complaints about the pests at a major downtown theatre. Toronto has been besieged by bedbug infestations this year, and at least one moviegoer complained of being bitten at the Scotiabank Theatre, one of TIFF’s main venues. Cameron said via Twitter that he’s working to ensure an “itch-free” festival.
